International Women’s Day

If the Churchill ladies (and gentlemen) are looking for ways to celebrate International Women’s Day, this is an event not to be missed! (promoted by the CUSU Women’s Welfare Officer).

Saturday 9th March: 9.30-16.30 @ Anglia Ruskin University
A day of discussions, workshops, performances and film celebrating the individual and collective power and strength of women. Workshops and performances will focus on issues such as ending violence against women, returning to work / study, creative letter writing, women and health and homelessness, life planning, talk about women students, mothers, daughters and inclusive community development in South India, women who transformed Cambridge and reflections on mothers, by daughters. In addition there will be singing and poetry reading, as well as stalls and displays. Following the day event we present the film ‘Peace Unveiled’ which is part of the ‘Women, War & Peace’ documentary series. An inspiring film about women’s rights in Afghanistan: “peace and justice can’t come at the cost of women and women’s lives”.
