SCR Academic Seminars

You filled in our academic surveys – so we fulfilled your academic wishes!
In short, we are VERY excited to bring to you cross-common-room seminars from the brilliant researchers in the SCR! Last term’s survey (if you can recall it) suggested people are interested in what research our College’s fellows conduct, so we have been hard at work to fill in the time slot you guys chose in the survey, Wednesday evenings starting at 7:30pm, with SCR speakers!

Here is a summary of this term’s schedule:
====================================================
Wed. 5th Feb. @ 7:30pm – Dr Alecia Carter: “Monkey see, which monkey do: Does social learning depend on personality in wild baboons?”
Wed. 19th Feb. @ 7:30pm – Dr Lucy Blake: ““Daddy ran out of tadpoles”: family communication about sperm donation and egg donation”
Wed. 5th Mar. @ 7:30pm – Dr Colm-Cille Caulfield: “Go with the flow: Fluid dynamics in industry and the environment”
====================================================

We intend to hold them in the MCR TV room, with wine and cheese as usual held in the MCR common room afterwards. As you know, the TV room is very informal, so feel free to join in and enjoy a relaxing evening of broadening our academic horizons and sharing our research community at Churchill.

Feel free to contact myself (sh767@cam.ac.uk) or Jan (jf420@cam.ac.uk) for any further information. We look forward to seeing lots of you there, and hopefully some SCR members will be in the crowd too.

See here for the abstracts for the talks, and here for the abstract for the first talk next Wednesday.
