To all of our new postgraduate students for the coming academic year, welcome to Churchill College! You are about to become members of a unique community and we are looking forward to welcoming you (back, if you’ve been here before) in person. If you haven’t received a similar message to this in your email inbox, we may not have your current address. Send an email to one of the committee members below, to ensure that we can keep you updated.
You are now part of postgraduate community in the college that is called MCR – Middle Common Room (part of Cambridge vocabulary). In the next few weeks you will receive a wealth of information. In addition to any departmental and university-organised introductions, we are running a set of events to introduce you to Cambridge and to give you the opportunity to meet people. You will receive more information on that over the next few weeks.
For now, please have a look at the Freshers’ Guide which has some basic information you will need before arriving at college.
We are available to help you with any urgent questions you may have prior to your arrival. You will soon be assigned a couple of existing students as part of our “parenting” scheme to give you a more personal point of contact, but if you have any questions now, please do not hesitate to contact us: Jessica (firstname.lastname@example.org), Karolis (email@example.com) or Jordan the MCR president (firstname.lastname@example.org). Also, have a look at our website http://mcr.chu.cam.ac.
We are looking forward to meeting you. All the best and have a safe trip to Cambridge!
